The Nigerian superstar, Asake, makes history once again, featuring his collaboration with British rapper Central Cee on the NBA 2K25 Season 2 soundtrack album. Notably, the song “Wave,” one of the standout tracks from Asake’s third album, “Lungu Boy,” makes its debut on the prestigious soundtrack.
This latest achievement marks a significant milestone for Asake, who continues to gain international recognition. Meanwhile, “Wave” stands out as the sole Afrobeats representation on the album, which boasts an impressive lineup of songs from American artists, including Key Glock and Lil Pete.
Furthermore, Asake features on the NBA 2K25 soundtrack, representing the consecutive appearance of Afrobeats on the platform, following Adekunle Gold’s inclusion of “Party No Dey Stop” featuring Zinoleesky in the NBA 2K24 soundtrack album.
Asake joins an elite group of Nigerian popstars, including Adekunle Gold and Burna Boy, who have been featured on the soundtrack album for the popular game, which sells over 9 million units worldwide in its 2024 version.
Asake’s inclusion on the soundtrack showcases his global superstar status, which he has built over the past year. Since breaking into the mainstream in 2022, Asake enjoys unprecedented commercial success, thanks to a collection of chart-topping and record-breaking hit records.
