A shocking incident has occurred in Ibadan, Oyo State, leaving a community in stunned silence. Comfort Olalere Tinubu, a 33-year-old housewife, has been accused of fatally stabbing her 39-year-old husband, Olusegun Tinubu, during a domestic dispute.
The couple, married for three years with two children, had a disagreement that escalated into violence. Olusegun accused Comfort of locking him out of their bedroom, which led to a heated argument. The situation took a darker turn when Olusegun slapped Comfort, but a relative intervened and separated the couple.
Thinking the issue had been resolved, Olusegun went to sleep on the couch. However, Comfort allegedly retrieved a knife and stabbed him in the back while he lay unconscious. Neighbors reported hearing Olusegun’s screams for help before he slumped and was rushed to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
The incident was reported at the Gbagi Police Station and later transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) in Iyaganku, Ibadan. Comfort is currently in custody, facing charges related to her husband’s murder.
