Following the series of events that trailed the just concluded Grammy award event, a handful of Africans worldwide are still in awe over the voting process.
Over the couple of years, there have been talks that the grammys are controlled by a bunch of elitists who decide what’s popular and who should win, hence neglecting pure talent.
A handful of renowned artistes including Eminem, Kanye West (Ye) and the likes had once threatened to boycott the Grammys citing “partiality and lack of authenticity”.
Nevertheless, as we all know, any award program that are not open to public voting are bound to be biased.
Recall Ogbonoblog had earlier reported that singers, Davido and Burnaboy were excluded after getting nominated for the awards in diverse categories.
From our investigations, we observed that Davido is yet to win a single Grammy award despite his huge contributions to the entertainment industry.
Also, we observed that several factors might have affected their unfortunate exclusion, as most Nigerians suggested that the only reason Davido and Burnaboy got nominated was just for the hype alone.
Nevertheless, the fact still remains that in order to have a fair outcome, the entire process must be adequately visible to the public.
