Residents in Aba city and its environs where thrown into a state of jubilation some months back after the state government commenced plans to solely generate, transmit, and distribute its power.
The project which was tagged the “Aba Geometric Power Project” would ensure that major communitues and LGA’s (Local Government Areas) Acorss the state enjoy 24/7 power supply.
Note that Abia is currently the only state across nigeria enjoying such amazing benefit.
The state Governor, Alex Otti, said the project was as a result of the power to dream.
Despite the huge impact that the constant electricity project has in Aba, a handful of residents recently called on the state government to reduce the light supply.
According to some aba residents who spoke with our chief editor, Chisom Samuel on call, the consntant supply of electric power might in the long run damage some of their home appliances.
Others suggested that due to the constant supply of electricity in the state, there might be a high rise in the cost of electric bills.
Recall some days back, a young man had cried out for help over constant electricity supply in the state.
According to him, the state Governor should direct the body in charge of electricity supply in the state to cease power as it is now too much.
