In a shocking turn of events, enraged youths in Agharoza village, Iboko community, Ebonyi State, went on a rampage, demolishing and setting ablaze their kinsman’s houses over a controversial prophecy. Furthermore, they destroyed his valuable property, yam barn, and farms, leaving a trail of destruction in their wake.
Acting on a prophecy by popular prophet Ubadimma, the youths accused their kinsman of being responsible for the village’s backwardness and misfortunes. Moreover, they claimed that Ubadimma’s prophecy revealed their kinsman as an evil force hindering the village’s progress.
Consequently, the youths took matters into their own hands, unleashing their fury on their kinsman’s property. Meanwhile, the traditional ruler of Ndieze Autonomous Community, HRH Eze Hyacinth Nwokpor, has banned prophets and prophetesses from operating in his community, citing their harmful and divisive prophecies.
In a surprising twist, the victim had earlier invited the police to disrupt the prayer programme, denying any wrongdoing. Nevertheless, the Ebonyi State Youths remained unconvinced, choosing to take the law into their own hands. Ultimately, the incident highlights the dangers of blind faith and the importance of critical thinking in the face of sensational prophecies.
As the community grapples with the aftermath of the destruction, many are left wondering how a prophecy could spark such violence. The incident has also raised questions about the role of religion in the community and the need for leaders to promote peace and understanding. In the end, the “Prophecy of Chaos” has left a trail of destruction, a reminder of the devastating consequences of unchecked passion and blind belief.
A well articulated article.
