A 100-level Biology student at Federal University Lokoja (FUL) in Kogi State has been arrested for kidnapping and murdering a female colleague.
Jeremiah, from Kaduna State, confessed to the crime and led police to the location where he buried the victim, Damilola.
In the full video, the police stated that Damilola’s genït@ls were cut off but Jeremiah denied it. He told the police that he didn’t cut any part of her body but he had only strangled her.
He had demanded a ransom of N400,000 from her family, which they paid, but still took her life.
Jeremiah claimed he acted alone and was motivated by fear of being exposed. Hence, the reason for the killing.
He was arrested after attempting to demand an additional N10 million from Damilola’s family.
The case is a tragic reminder of the importance of safety and security measures on university campuses.
